The approaches learned this week will better help me resolve conflicts that may arise at work. An issue I recently and currently experience is happening at my place of employment. In this case I have recently received a promotion to a supervisor and there are a couple of people who were unhappy. Before, I received the job these individuals tried so many things to try and hurt me and hurt my chances of obtaining this position. Now that I have this position they have to report to me, because I value the job I have to treat them in a professional manner but it is hard to forget all of the horrible things that they did to try and prevent me from getting this job. Some of the same behaviors that were happening in past are starting to resurface again from these woman. I decided to still treat them kind and do what I have to do to make the job run smoothly. I feel as though if all parties take part in this negative behavior nothing will change I have to lead by example. I believe the 3 R’s have helped me a little more in during these tough situations. I have to show them respect, and demonstrate positivity when dealing with them and leave the entire negative actions and behaviors behind to have a productive program.
Tashana,
ReplyDeleteI can see where that would be a difficult situation, jealousy is so hard to combat. You have the right idea, treating them with respect and kindness will help to smooth their ruffled feathers and eventually they will be able to look past their own feelings and realize you deserved the job.
