A positive example of research on children is the impact of early childhood education. Today more and more studies are coming out stating the long term effects of educating children in the early stages of life. Children being educated early have more of a chance of going further in the education process compared to the ones who do not start early. Many of the studies are being used to show politicians why they should not cut Pre-K and Kindergarten education. I think having this research is great because many times politicians make decisions from behind a desk and don’t know anything about this topic and the great effects of educating early.
This also benefits families who want their children to experience a better learning development than they may have. Showing and promoting the benefits from research on early education has and will have a great advantage on providing more resources to help children and families. Hopefully, with this happening children in the United States can receive a better education just like children in other countries.
Tashana I agree that Early childhood education is a positive example of research. I work for an early learning program and everyday I see the results of children who have made out so much better because they had early pre-k and pre-k!
ReplyDeleteTashana, I think your post this week is great because you are hitting a very important spot. I agree with you that more research to show politicians the importance of early childhood education. I do understand that budget cuts are necessary in our society because we are in a resession. However, cutting funding in education is not the answer. How are we ensuring that our children get the education that they need? Thanks for sharing a great research topic this week.
ReplyDeleteTashana,
ReplyDeleteI totally agree that Early childhood education is a great topic of study. There have been years of studies that prove that early learning experiences are of value to young children. However, there continues to be a challenge in support for early learning experiences that benefit all children. I think a major challenge that our nation faces is programs that are funded for families that are below the poverty level, but the group that is right above poverty level are not able to afford quality services. So, yes Tashana there must continue to be much research on the necessity of quality early learning experiences.
Tashana,
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else, the topic of early childhood education is very important. Early Head Start was developed from research on early childhood education. I also agree with you that there is the need for more research with regards to early childhood education. I have seen in the past three years the influence that early childhood education has on young children that participate in Early Head Start!
