Sharing Web Resources

The website I choose to use as Web Resource is http://nbcdi.org/  National Black Child Development Institute I choose that because I work in a predominantly African American district and would like to learn how I could be a better educator.   The organization focuses on the betterment of African American Children.  Also, to provide various scholarships to help children get through school and conferences for educators to learn various techniques to teach.
They have program called Parent Empowerment Project (PEP) this series seeks to educate, motivate and inspire parents to excellence as their Child’s first teacher The National Black Child Development Institute (NBCDI) introduces an exciting curriculum for parent education.  Parent Empowerment Project (PEP) is a unique program that seeks to educate, motivate and inspire parents to excellence as their child’s first teacher.  Under the auspices of NBCDI, PEP was designed by and for lower income African Americans, but has demonstrated effectiveness with a broad spectrum of parents.
Working in a diverse community it is helpful to be educated and have knowledge of various cultures that you have to serve.

Great site! I've never heard of it before. I also work with predominantly African American children and to have a resource that specifically caters to their needs is great.

I love the Parent Empowerment Project. I am always seeking additional services to make my preschool parents the best that they can be. It sounds like a well rounded program covering all the important basics and topics of being a parent.
