When I think of Child Development

"Children are like wet cement.  Whatever falls on them make an impression."~ Dr.  Haim Ginott

Children seldom misquote.  In fact, they usually repeat word for word what you shouldn't have said.  ~Author Unknown

Nequiatuia,
Your post were great, it was great to read them week after week.  Your post about Poverty and how you overcame it was really inspiring.  The particular post left a powerful impression in my mind thanks for the post.  Good Luck in your future classes!!!

  2. Tashana,
I love the 2nd quote because it reminds so much of my nephew and how he loves to learn new words! Especially the words that are not appropriate for his age! I love it! This quotes reminds us to be mindful of the fact that children are sponges that we should always model the appropriate language and actions. It has been a pleasure reading your posts and getting to know you better through your thoughts. Best of luck with the completion of your degree.

  3. When I read your quotes this week, I had to smile because I experienced both. My son surprises me all the time when he repeats something I said on the fly. The same is true with things I do around the house. He follows the good as well as the bad examples. Every day, I am reminded of the quote by your second quote. I also like the quote you posted by Dr Haim. Because I also believe that children are influenced by whatever they encounter, I made the decision to get into early childhood education. Dr. Haim reminds us why we do what we do.

  4. Hey Tashana,

I like you second quote because samll children mimic whatever they hear. They typically repeat whatever they hear even though they may not understand what is mean. It goes back to the old saying "Watch what you say around the kids". Glad that you enjoyed my post and I wish you the best in your future endeavors.
